Plenty of wood, plenty of warmth!
What a lovely place to be!

Restaurant

Bavarian joie de vivre at Berlin’s Kontorhaus since 2003.

Good to have you here! Bavarian hospitality, Alpine specialities and the finest beer from wooden barrels – you will only find this combination at Maximilians on Friedrichstraße. Cosy benches, solid wooden tables and casual standing areas, all in light oak with steel, tile and brass accents, create a modern beer hall atmosphere. Our warm, welcoming team brings it to life. Welcome home.

History and tradition

Would you believe it? Until the middle of the last century, the Pschorr Bräuhaus stood where Maximilians now celebrates Bavarian life in blue and white. We have brought the beers of one of Bavaria’s most popular breweries back to the banks of the Spree. Expertly brewed in Munich and served fresh in Berlin, from wooden barrels, from our copper taps or by the bottle. Cheers!

Hacker-Pschorr Edelhell from the wooden barrel

The barrel is tapped! Beer the Bavarian way: the wooden barrels arrive directly from Munich every week and are stored beneath blocks of ice in the glass-fronted cold room, right in the dining area. They roll along a rail onto the bar, where a bell rings before each barrel is tapped by hand. Soon afterwards, your fresh Edelhell is served in an ice-cold glass – one, two, cheers!

Good food on your plate

Nothing beats something good! Prepared with love and served with warmth, our menu is inspired by Bavarian and Alpine specialities. It offers traditional hearty meals, lighter dishes and vegetarian or vegan options. We value the variety of regional ingredients and our own recipes, so there is a treat for everyone. Enjoy your meal!
